A modern rusted-steel memorial with a porthole portrait among autumn leaves

Newer cemeteries have their own language — weathering steel meant to rust into its finish, clean lines, and here a porthole holding a portrait. It does not pretend to be a century old. It says what it is: a window onto one person, set into steel that will keep changing color for a hundred years.
